(August 28) I no longer remember why Tony and I were even talking that night, but when I told him it was “cooking night” here at the ranch, he said he wanted to see proof that I cook. I’m still going to be eating stew tomorrow.
Thai coconut chicken soup
Grilled chicken with “baja citrus” marinade
Chicken jambalaya
Sauteed mushrooms in butter and brandy
Chicken and vegetable stew
Goya yellow rice
Mashed potatoes with bacon and cheddar
and finally,…. dinnertime.

(August 17) Since most of my visits to Central Park don’t involve leaving the street loops around it, I decided to look around the inside of the park a little.
If you’re paying attention, the sages of Brooklyn
have critiqued this ad for your sarcastic amusement
It’s probably true
Pulitzer Fountain
General Sherman, not so beloved below the Mason-Dixon line.
It lights up when someone stands in the doorway
Mini amusement park
There’s a large number of statues lining the path
Shakespeare
Walter Scott
Robert Burns
Fitz Greene Halleck
The bayou of Central Park
Dancing in the park
I followed a path into what turned out to be The Ramble
Timothy Laupot bridge
Only a few feet from Manhattan, I exited out onto the street
Trump International (Hotel)
I was wondering how long would pass before I saw this on one of the new screens

(July 26) I decided at long last it was time to go see Prospect Park, as a possible place to rollerblade. In the end I don’t think I got a really good look at it. I got dizzy, felt sick to my stomach, and thought I was going to pass out trying to blade to the top of the eastern side of the street that circles inside the park. That was a first.
This was the evening before. It struck me that this part of Brooklyn
has a suburban downtown feel to it
Past 5th Ave (above), and further northeast until I reached
Grand Army Plaza at the entrance to Prospect Park
Grand Army Plaza, across from the park’s entrance
Unlike Central Park in Manhattan, Prospect Park is a family-oriented park
I thought this was quite a sight
Feeling ill, as I was, I failed to notice the sculpture until just now;
actually I noticed, but failed to comprehend at the time
Another unexpected mosiac
I also failed to notice the interestingly painted building
to the right of the Tea Lounge

(August 16) Yes, I am still posting about August 16th. (I finally remembered to tag the DUMBO photos though) The day that started out as a small trip to DUMBO to snap a few photos of the Revs sculpture before it is stolen into the private market, didn’t end with me walking back from the mural and heading straight to the York St. Station. Upon seeing one of the Manhattan “waterfalls”, I decided to go visit the trees that are being killed by the Brooklyn Bridge “waterfall”.
As it turned out, the place was full of photographers
Under the Brooklyn Bridge, on the shores of the East River,
you’ll find Brooklyn Bridge Park
Lots of people were sitting around here listening to the waves
The park is presently full of artwork that has a “recycled feel” to it
There’s lots of great views of the Manhattan Bridge here
It seems to be a popular destination and hangout
There’s also a lot of good views of the Brooklyn Bridge
As I would later find out, this seems to be the place to have weddings
The MetLife blimp was in town
Finally, I reached my destination, the trees being poisoned
by the spray from the “waterfall”
And there’s the tree killer, caught in the act
This thing (“(untitled)”) reminds me of candy dishes for some reason
That green dot is me, the dark spot is “(untitled)” above.
This ends my story about August 16th. I just realized I forgot to post my trip to Prospect Park in July. I guess that’s coming next.

Continuing through Downtown Brooklyn through to DUMBO, I finally arrived in the area. Remembering it only as industrial, I was surprised at how much there was to see.
Manhattan Bridge
Wooden sculpture
Driftwood bench
Zeus (Bates Wilson)
Nature Matching System, inspired by the color of fresh vegetables and fruits
From here you can see one of the Manhattan wretched “waterfalls”
The Museum of Modern Arthur (?)
I took the photo because I liked the artwork on the restaurant.
When I got home, I realized that awful Nike sign
is where a Revs & Peek mural used to be.
Exit DUMBO here!
