(Oct 29) No Halloween Parade (again). Maybe next year.
(Aug 23) It is still August on this photoblog (forever?).
I start again, down Harbor Beach Road.
The harbor in Harbor Beach Road
One of the many birds in the area.
There are a variety of different “views” here.
Where it all began. I learned and scraped here.
I’ve been trying to get a bee in flight forever.
I’ve never seen anyone actually sitting here.
In all these years, I’ve never been on this path before.
It’s just like this one!
Yet one more place nature is prohibited from nature.
Someone perhaps didn’t get the memo
This place is in many ways the opposite of the WTC
And then back out toward home.
I like how this looked from the street
(Aug 19) It was on this trip that I realized a few things. One was that walking provided most of the inspiration for photo-taking. The other was (related to the first) that I may have finally gotten a nice camera but at the wrong time in my life. Knowing my time here was short, I hit the street.
This road is indeed long and winding.
I’d intended to go all the way to the harbor.
It ends in Mt. Sinai at Cedar Beach.
Oh poison ivy, I curse your very existence. You other ivy are ok though.
Keep in mind though, this is suburbia. None of this is wild.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not nice.
What the streets are made of.
Unfortunately I didn’t get far before stepping in poison ivy, upon which I hurried back home to wash.
Pseudoreal is still in August. The end of Miller Place was near.
There was a small bamboo “forest” at the edge of the proprerty
It doesn’t handle snow or rain very well
And a few flowers around the foundation
This guy ran around the yard a bit
I’m surprised the hurricane didn’t blow this thing away
(Jun 12) It’s called a Tulip Tree, and I’m told its wood is hard and straight. Probably used for ship’s masts.
Unfortunately I can take dozens of photos with this camera and still not be able to tell if they’re all blurry or not until it’s too late.
The next day, a storm obliterated the blooms.
