(May 22) Trains and escalators.
The last can. Now, they are truly gone to me
Amtrak’s part of the station makes even less sense than does the LIRR’s
We stand in the middle of the aisle an hour or so before we get to go down
After this, it’s a very long train ride
(Feb 7) Visited my mother for her birthday, since I was sick my whole time there for Thanksgiving.
They are with me now more than ever
Six and a half hours of train travel is about to begin
I wonder how long it would take to fly upstate
Four and a half hours in this seat.
(December 15) I sleep on the train, he sleeps in the backhoe.
There’s some kind of construction going on here.
What is that I see there?…. is it, … could it be…?

Amtrak soils New York with Jersey Transit’s trains here.
It’s sort of the waiting room. For some reason this makes more sense than sending them back to Jersey. Probably money changes hands.
I think I was only in the city twice in December.
Viza and I took a short stroll through Amtrak’s part of Penn Station.
I found some more subway mosaics to add to my collection.
(August 14) And finally… the footbridge.
This bridge crosses just about everything except the water.
Had it been further back, it would have crossed that as well.
And down the other side. I found these steps particularly difficult to climb because of their layout.
Nobody expects robots in the Bronx.

They should have spent more money on the inside of the station instead of the outside.
