(Jun 16) I have been busy. Busy is neither good nor bad, just busy.
So many things nailed to this pole …. that absolutely no one cared about.
This is not at all what I expected when I decided to shoot this scene
Now this, is what I was looking for
This view will never be the same
Not because of the demolition and coming construction
But because the man whose office this was for 30 years has died.
(Jun 2) I haven’t been in Blue Point in a very long time.
I had a flashback to high school and a kid named Tim I had a mainframe class with
(May 29) Attempts to return to Brooklyn continue to be frustrated.
(May 28) I’ve passed through Northport hundreds of times on the LIRR, but today was the first time I set foot on Northport soil.
It looks like any other Long Island marina
The village resembles Port Jefferson
Except Northport apparently had a streetcar
And there in the middle of suburbia… a farm
(May 21) As soon as I saw Prime Ave, I knew I was back in the old hood. I lost my mainframe virginity in that neighborhood.
I didn’t recognize the area, just the sign
We used to come here to de-stress from writing code, at lunchtime
Always interesting to note WWI plaques always assumed there’d only be one world war
It’s surprising how much I don’t remember about the place
But the willows, those I remember
These Long Island stone bridges are of a certain era
These are apparently an invasive species
But now we’ve pretty much seen it all
Time to go. Shall we do it again in another 25 years?
And finally, we arrive at the place of my former employment. The data center was where “Elite Sports Performance” is now. You entered through the two-story building to the left.
