Better Than Real Because It's Not.

Pete’s been going to the park almost obsessively lately. Most of the time I go with him. The only problem with it is you can’t let your mind wander much. The bicyclists are the victims on the streets of NYC, but in Central Park, they’re pretty much the sole perpetrators of all unsafe conditions faced by everyone else.

Pete agreed to haul a load out of Brooklyn for me if I agreed to go rollerblading in Central Park. Things have gone downhill quite a bit since then. It already seems like it was long ago.

rollerblading
He almost never goes forward except in reverse.

Pete hates the cyclists… passionately.

running, cycling, blading

Some girl caught his eye.

dorkbot
Dorkbot is one of my favorite things to go to. Nobody knows me there;
it’s all fun and no work when you’re on the audience side of the podium.

His heart beats, you see it in realtime.

You can watch him use the various parts of his brain too.

Yes, Pete has a cup of black coffee in one hand, and a lit cigar in the other, and he’s rollerblading in Central Park.
(he’s wearing the same shirt as last time too)

the man-horse!
Back on Smith St. in Brooklyn, they let some kids decorate the boards used to conceal a construction site. They should do this more often.

Back to Central Park, Pete leads the newbies through the AIDS walk after-crowd.

The cops eventually made them clear out. Surprised?

Finally it was off to visit Josh at the Harold & Kumar Frat House.

It’s so much faster when you drive there… early.
May 30.

 billboard.

These are among the world’s most expensive billboards.

 midtown tunnel.

Through the tunnel.

 contrast.

I believe they call this contrast.

 famous fountain.

The angel atop the fountain.

 pedro.

Pete, and more contrast.

 maxin and relaxin.

There were a fair number of people relaxing in the park.

 no traffic.

When we left there was no traffic to speak of.

 nice day.

It was a nice day, and we got home quickly.

Central Park.

 exiting the tunnel

We entered the city via the Midtown Tunnel.

 red and white baloons

The day started out sunny.
Today was a holiday, but I don’t know what.

 ha ha. pete's ass!

Pete told me not to take photos of his ass.
So of course I did.

 the horniest man alive

As we passed through the park, Pete molested the cat.
Video of him climbing down the hill in his rollerblades would have been even more amusing.

i'll bet he gets lots of dates, right?

No visit to the city is complete without encountering an alien.

 saturday traffic

When it was time to leave, there wasn’t much traffic.

 this thing almost fell down

We passed by the CitiGroup Building. It would have fallen down in high winds had the architect not realized this when construction was nearing completion.

 darkening skies

By the time we got out of there, it was not so nice a day anymore.

 more citi

And then we passed the other Citi building. One wasn’t enough.
(actually I think it used to be the Traveller’s Building before the buyout)
