(Nov 12) For a second time in less than three weeks, I’m working somewhere new. This is a good thing, and a bit unexpected.

it'll be halloween again in only 11 months!
The hardest part of decorating is putting it all away

not a real turtle
In the city, you personalize where you can.

oh, art!
Bait for people with more money than brains

(Oct 26) Thirteen posts.

endlessly and noisily
They are endlessly doing nothing here

closed is open
Perhaps the new management will turn off the OPEN sign when they are closed.

candytime
Halloween is very near now

(Sep 20) A return to the San Gennaro festival. I haven’t been since I left Brooklyn. It has gotten smaller and has become overrun by iPhone accessories.

i look like my brother here
Your author, looking harried

i don't know what it is i'm hoping to capture here, but i never find it
Through the tunnel

a donut was reported missing
I was actually asked if terrorists might come to San Gennaro. I suppose this is the post-Boston way of things.

this might have been witty 30 years ago
Someone didn’t get the memo. We don’t have hippies anymore, now we have hipsters.

spend money please
The width of the street surely hasn’t changed, but it feels cramped now.

doesn't even cross my mind
You know,… it never occurs to me to eat any of this stuff

money to be given to the poor
Saint Januarius

someday soon
Someday, this will all be part of Chinatown

not that it contributed positively toward the festival's authenticity
The “Drown the Clown” carnival game is no longer a part of it.

(Sep 18) And what have we got?

because they put it in the wrong spot
The only thing this has proved is that everyone’s driving less than the speed limit.

reporters watch us take buses
A LIRR derailment

sound the alarm, i finally made it into the city
In to Manhattan

and off to costco
Then back home, As Seen On TV

suburban anger
A protest on Long Island, don’t recall seeing this before

meh.
They don’t like Common Core

try again?
Despite having the monopod this time, these shots were worse than the last bunch.

(Aug 27) Summer is nearly over.

it feels like i only just sorted that mess out
It is already time to renew my driver’s license.

but the past gives birth to the future
The present is different from the past

more like looking for food
Monitoring the situation

his breath is hideous
This one is monitoring me

piss and the mta
Some things never change

but change they have
Some things changed slowly

the past is over
But you can’t go back to the past
