Better Than Real Because It's Not.

(Jul 26) I’ve been coming to this neighborhood for 13 years. At some point a patch of land indistinguishable from an abandoned dump turned into a park. It seemed to spring into being suddenly, though it must have been going on behind the fence for quite a while.
But first… The Asshole of the Day
The Diallo Mural has been brutally vandalized, undoubtedly by the landlord
More shhamefully, the city just re-armed one of the perpetrators.
There it is
Concrete Plant Park
Surrounded by multiple railroads on two sides
It’s pretty
At least the water doesn’t seem to be killing the birds
It has artistic value
But it detracts from the park overall, which needs every inch of usable space it can get.
Catching something

Looking back at the wasted space
“High” speed trains.
There’s plenty of trains here though.
It’s part of the “Bronx River Greenway”
And then it was done
So I left

(September 24) Today I had to go up to the Bronx in the neighborhood of the Amadou Diallo mural. On the way, I spotted several other murals in the area.
The 6 rolling away from Whitlock Ave.
It’s just about the end for both flowers and butterflies.
Something to do with manatees and killer sphinxes
This one on the side of a bodega is interesting…
